Piano-opoly is a simple incentive sheet that goes in the front of the student’s binder. Each week, I pull it out during the lesson and place an “X” in a square for each song or technical exercise that has been mastered, and for a complete week of practicing (noted on their Assignment Sheet by marking off at least 5 days of practice). Each time the student reaches a “Prize” square, they get to choose a prize out of my prize box – anything from music-themed water bottle stickers to small pieces of candy to pencils shaped like treble clefs. At the completion of a sheet, we print out another one and start over!
